Splento App: Step by Step for Organisations If you need a helping hand getting started - this is the place!

If you are an organisation and new to Splento App, then you may need a hand getting started. This guide is designed to do just that – but remember, if you need more help, we are only a phone call away!

As the Splento App is new, this means we are happy to help create the profiles for your staff that need it. We will create at least three different accounts, one for admin, one for the marketing team, and one for the staff members who have permission to take the photos. Each of these accounts performs slightly different functions; they are all here to make it easier for your organisation to run smoothly. 

In this article, we will go through the steps for each account, so when the day comes for your team to use the Splento App you know what you are doing!

 

1. Marketing Staff

Logging in

Step 1: On your browser search tab, enter admin.splento.com

Step 2: Enter the email address and password that we have sent to you. 

Step 3: You are now logged in and ready to see all the photos your company has taken and choose the best one for your marketing. 

 

Filtering

Step 1: Go to ‘Albums’ – this button is at the top next to ‘Admin Panel’.

Step 2: Click on ‘Open Album’ you can now see all of the photos that your team has taken. 

Step 3: Select the yellow box that says ‘Search by Tags’.

Step 4: A list of different tags will appear. Click on the tag that you want, for example, ‘EyesOpen’ this will then show your marketing team all of the photos with children who have their eyes open – perfect for your website. 

 

Creating your own tag

Step 1: Follow steps 1 and 2 from the previous section: Filtering.

Step 2: Under a photo of your choice, click on the yellow button with the word ‘Tags’

Step 3: Enter the new tag name, such as ‘Unblurred’ and then click ‘Add Tag’ 

Step 4: Now you can proceed to use that tag; all photos with that tag name will be shown. 

 

Downloading photos

There are two different ways to download photos. You can either download one at a time or group the photos and download them all together:

 

Group download:

Step 1: Open the desired photo album.

Step 2: Select all the photos that you like and feel would look amazing to promote your camp or school: Click on the small yellow button marked ‘✓’ – you’ll find this under each photo, to the left. 

Step 3: Once you’ve selected your chosen photos, in the top right corner, click on the blue Download Media button. 

Step 4: The photos will now download to your computer; you can then upload them to your website, or put them to other use!

 

Individual selection:

Step 1: Open the desired photo album.

Step 2: To download just one photo, find the one you want and click on the green button that is under the photo, to the right. (This button has an arrow coming out of a cloud).

Step 3: The photo will download to your computer.

 

2. Admin Staff

Logging on

Step 1: Go to admin.splento.com

Step 2: Sign in by using the email and password that we have sent to you. 

Step 3: You are now logged in and can see your overall account info, your statistics and who has what permissions.

 

Seeing who can do what

Step 1: Go to ‘Organisation Staff’ 

Step 2: Here you have the whole layout on who can take photos and who is allowed to see them. 

→ For the admin staff, it will state ‘No’ under ‘Blocked?’, ‘General Staff’ and ‘Marketing Staff’.

→ You will see for the marketing account there is a ‘Yes’ under ‘Marketing Staff’ indicating that they can view the photos. 

→ For others, it will show a ‘Yes’ under ‘General Staff’ as this means they are allowed to take photos.

 

Editing what your employees can do

Step 1: Go to ‘Organisation Staff’ 

Step 2: Select the blue Edit button on the account you want to edit. 

Step 3: Amend settings as required. ‘Blocked?’ is there for safeguarding. Remember to save your changes before you exit!

 

Checking statistics

Step 1: Select ‘Statistics’  

Step 2: You can now see how many photos have been taken, and how many parents have linked their child to your organisation using an invite code. 

Step 3: You will also be able to see daily active users, and the different reactions you receive from parents, through their likes and comments. 

 

Checking the children who have joined

Step 1: Go to ‘Children’ 

Step 2: On this page, you will have a list of children whose parents have added their child using your organisation’s invite code. 

Step 3: Here you can also see if a parent has forgotten to add the invite code, so you can remind them, enabling them to receive the photos that you take.

 

3. General Staff

Logging in

Step 1: Go to staff.splento.app

Step 2: Enter the email address and password that we have created for you to use. 

 

Taking photos

Step 1: The main page will display ‘Photo mode is on’. In the middle of the lower part of the screen is a blue circle with a white camera outline; click this button. 

Step 2: Now take a video or photo and upload it.*

Step 3: You can continue to take photos/videos or log out of the account if finished. 

 

*Note: The photos and videos that are uploaded are sent to parents straight away and to the marketing team (if they have permission to see these photos). These images will not be saved on your device. Staff accounts are for shooting photos and videos only, and offer no other functions.
