The Best London Christmas Shows Discover the magic of London theatre

Scroll

Christmas shows are as important as Santa to the theatre enthusiasts of London, so it’s practically impossible to imagine a Christmas without our fair share of Nutcrackers and A Christmas Carols. So that you don’t miss out on this Christmas tradition, here’s a list of (Covid safe) Christmas shows to see this December in London. We’ve got everything from musicals, to immersive theatre, to pantomimes – all you’ve got to do is book your seats before tickets sell out.

1. A Christmas Carol- The Musical Staged Concert

Everyone’s favourite Christmas tale will come alive in Dominion Theatre this December, so that you can enjoy it in a cosy, socially distanced atmosphere. The classic tale of a mean-spirited old man having a change of heart during Christmas will delight and entertain in London this month. With melodious music from the London Musical Theatre Orchestra, this timeless Christmas story is the perfect festive treat to enjoy together with your family and loved ones.

2. Nutcracker Delights

Nutcracker Delights is a special adaption of Nutcracker highlights brought to you by the English National Ballet. This Christmas production is the perfect show for audiences both young and old. This December, this traditional performance will be showcased at the London Coliseum from 17th December 2020 to 3rd January 2021. The Nutcracker will be brought to life with magnificent dancing, ethereal sets and the breath-taking music of Tchaikovsky. As one of London’s most popular performances, the tickets will sell out quicker than you can say Sugar Plum Fairy, so book your seats now.

3. The Murder Express

Dig into a mouth-watering meal prepared by a Masterchef on a 19th-century train carriage and watch as a tantalizing story unfolds around you. Sounds like a lot, right? The Murder Express is an immersive dining experience where passengers embark on a lavish trip to the fictional town of Murdér in France. Enjoy the four-course meal created by Masterchef 2017 finalist, Louisa Ellis until a heinous crime is uncovered and everyone becomes a suspect. If you don’t want to spend Christmas in jogging bottoms eating straight from the Nutella jar (not saying that’s not a great plan), board the Murder Express for an exciting and memorable evening. The Murder Express couples great food with entertainment perfectly to ensure you’re in the edge of your seats throughout the journey.

4. Potted Panto

Potted Panto is set to return to the stage of London for a socially distanced production at the Garrick Theatre. This Christmas hit is 70 minutes of 7 hilarious pantomimes that takes you through a series of clichés to provide pure entertainment. Watch as Aladdin unleashes the powerful genie or even Cinderella making a dash for the Ball, acted out by the classic comedy duo – Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner. Be sure to catch this unmissable production, and we guarantee you’ll be laughing your way into the new year.

5. West End Musical Christmas

It really is the most wonderful time of the year as the biggest stars from West End musicals including Layton Williams, Rachel John and Sophie Evans celebrate the festive season in West End Musical Christmas – Live at the Palace Theatre. Watch these stars singing and dancing their hearts out, while special guests and surprises come up during each of the six performances they have planned.

All of the above productions have been adjusted to ensure the safety of the performers and the audience, so you can relax and enjoy these shows without a worry. If you’re not a Christmassy person, we guarantee you’ll go from Scrooge to Santa in no time with our pick of the best Christmas shows in London.
